Nantucket Public Schools suffered from ransomware that virus shut down its system devices.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts claims that the harmful software encrypts data and renders it unavailable unless cybercriminals are given a ransom price.

All student and staff devices, as well as the school system's safety and security systems, including phones and security cameras, were turned off by the district.
