Montgomery County Government

The government networks for Montgomery County were shut down over the weekend due to a data security problem.

There were a number of publicly accessible websites, although their usefulness was constrained.

A data security incident prevented access to the County's network, according to a statement from spokesperson for the county, Michelle Newell.

In the statement, Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett indicated that county employees would find alternate means of transportation to work if the situation persisted.
