Midland University

Midland University was hit by a sophisticated malware attack that encrypted certain computer files.

The unknown threat actors gained access to certain files and downloaded a subset of those files including names, addresses, Social Security numbers, driver’s licenses or state identification numbers, and financial account information.

Midland immediately investigated with the assistance of third-party computer forensic specialists and secure its systems to restore access.
