Middlesex County Public Schools' superintendent acknowledged that the school division has just been the target of a ransomware attack.
The school immediately acted to launch an internal investigation, assembling an incident response team under the leadership of their outstanding IT staff and some of the top cybersecurity authorities in the nation.
BetterCyber, a cybersecurity company, previously reported that the Akira ransomware group claimed to have attacked the website of the Middlesex County Public Schools and stolen 543 GB of its data.
