Mathilden Hospital Herford

The Lockbit ransomware group's cyberattack has caused service delays at three hospitals in the German hospital network Katholische Hospitalvereinigung Ostwestfalen (KHO).

In Bielefeld, Rheda-Wiedenbrück, and Herford, Germany, it had a significant effect on the systems that enable the hospitals' daily operations.

The successful restoration of backups preserves access to crucial patient data.

All three of the KHO facilities that are the target have no emergency care unit, so patients in need of immediate medical attention are sent to other hospitals, which could cause serious delays.
