Marymount Manhattan College reported a data breach after it experienced a “network disruption".
The breach compromised the names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, financial account information, medical information and health insurance information of certain individuals.
The hacker also removed some of these files containing sensitive information belonging to thousands of individuals.
Thus the school had to engage the assistance of cybersecurity professionals to conduct an investigation into the incident.
