Los Angeles Unified School District

The Los Angeles Unified School District got into a ransomware attack on its information technology systems.

The cyberattack originated over Labor Day weekend, starting on September 3rd.

It has not disrupted school operations and classes.

In-school safety and emergency systems were not affected by the attack, nor were employee payroll and health care networks.

LAUSD officials are already working to uncover the source of the attack, and they've implemented protocols to protect email and other internal IT applications.
