Lincolnshire County Council suffered a data security breach that exposed medical records, addresses, and bank details of the residents.
The hackers compromised its main adult care system an accessed the sensitive personal information of constituents.
However, a council spokesperson denied any data had been lost and claimed an email attachment with a zero-day exploit infected its internal system after being sent to multiple members of staff.
