Linn-Mar School District targeted by the ransomware attack in August 2022.
A notification indicating that "all your files have been encrypted by Vice Society" is displayed on district computers.
If the user doesn't get in touch with them to buy a key within 7 days, the notice threatens to upload those files on the dark web.
They worked with “third-party specialists to investigate the source of this disruption, assess its impact on their systems, and to restore full functionality to systems as soon as possible” and that the district’s network and phone systems were down.
