Legends Hospitality Settles $812,900 Data Breach Class Action
Legends Hospitality LLC has agreed to an $812,900 settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit stemming from cyberattacks in November 2024, December 2024, and January 2025 that exposed sensitive personal data. The breaches potentially compromised names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license details, financial data, medical information, and health insurance records.
Eligibility & Compensation
U.S. residents notified of the breach or whose data was impacted may file a claim. Affected individuals can choose one of two payment options:
- Documented losses (up to $5,000): Reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses like identity theft costs, credit monitoring fees, or ID replacement.
- Alternate cash payment (~$200): A one-time payment with no documentation required, though the final amount depends on the number of valid claims.
All class members are also eligible for three years of credit monitoring through CyEx Financial Shield Total, including $1 million in fraud insurance.
Settlement Process
Claims must be submitted by August 19, 2026, either online or via mail. Payments will be distributed after final court approval, expected following the September 3, 2026 hearing. The $812,900 fund will cover administrative costs, attorneys’ fees (up to $270,967), $2,500 service awards for class representatives, and remaining payouts to claimants.
