The Lawrence Public Schools are attempting to recoup $2.7 million that was just "frozen" after a staff member opened a phishing email from con artists acting as a supplier to the school system.
According to Brian A. DePea's spokeswoman, Nestor Castillo, the office of the mayor met urgently with information technology experts to discuss the security issue.
