Kativik Regional Government suffered from a data breach incident that impacted its internal system.
KRG warned that contacts with the company would be sluggish while it worked to restore phone services.
Internal phones and emails were disabled for a week, and there was no interaction between the 14 communities of Nunavik.
The compromised information includes the Nunavik Police Service, air transportation, internet provider Tamaani, and the water infrastructure.
The IT system is being completely overhauled, and cybersecurity experts have been hired to assist with the process of changing every employee's email address.
