Kansas Department of Commerce suffered from a security breach incident that exposed 5 million Social Security numbers after their system gets hacked.

The exposed information includes more than 800,000 accounts that did not contain Social Security numbers.

The FBI and a private IT company investigated the incident and took preventive steps.
