K12 Inc. became aware of a data breach that included information for 19,000 students was available for anyone with an internet connection.

It was not clear that anyone with ill intentions accessed the information during the data exposure.

K-12 worked too proactively and notified families who may have been affected by the security incident.

The company underscored that the information didn’t include health or social security data.
