About iQ Credit Union
iQ Credit Union is a member-owned financial cooperative that has served the Pacific Northwest since 1940. Originally founded as a teachers’ credit union in Vancouver, Washington, iQ Credit Union has grown to offer a full range of consumer and business banking services. Today, it operates around 16 branches throughout Washington and Oregon, with headquarters in Vancouver.
What Happened?
In August 2025, a significant data breach occurred involving iQ Credit Union through its digital and physical marketing vendor, Marquis Software Solutions Inc. On Aug. 14, 2025, Marquis detected suspicious activity on its network and determined it was the victim of a ransomware attack. The breach was limited to Marquis’ environment and did not impact iQ Credit Union’s internal systems.
A forensic investigation revealed that an unauthorized third party accessed Marquis’ network and may have acquired files containing sensitive information of iQ Credit Union members. The breach was disclosed to the Washington Attorney General’s office on Nov. 26, 2025. According to the official disclosure, 111,368 Washington residents were affected.
