The hackers targeted the networks of Internal Revenue Services and breached the personal information of about 104,000 taxpayers.

The stolen information included personal information like Social Security number, date of birth, address, and tax filing status of several years.

IRS warned the taxpayers to be alerted of any suspicious activities.
