Indian Institute of Technology, Madras

Students at IIT Madras, the top-ranked institution in the country by the NIRF, lost all their data, after a ransomware attack on the institute's internet and Command and Control servers.

Some students had not got their data back without paying the ransome.

One of the email servers was down temporarily.
