IJC - International Joint Commission
The International Joint Commission (IJC), an organisation that manages the shared lake and river systems that run along the border between the United States and Canada, is said to have been attacked by the NoEscape ransomware gang.
The group claims to have copied 80GB of commission material, including private and legal documents as well as employee personal information, and is threatening to reveal the files if it is not compensated.
The gang warns that all information will be made public if management doesn't speak up and engages in negotiations. They have more than 50,000 sensitive files, and if they are made public, it will cause a massive new wave of issues.
The commission releases a number of papers that are open to the public, including yearly reports, minutes from public meetings, maps, and suggestions for maintaining the waterways between the two nations clean for people and fish.
