Icare suffered a data breach incident after it mistakenly shared a spreadsheet containing information with 587 employers and insurance brokers.
The breach compromised the personal details of almost 200,000 injured workers including a summary of workers’ claims history, their name, date of birth and injury category.
Icare sent the email and letters to the affected workers clearly stating them that no personal financial information or contact details were compromised in the breach.
