Guthrie Police Department

A man was charged and arrested for hacking into the Guthrie Police Department's confidential computer system.

Police obtained a warrant to search 19-year-old Jared Joslin's home.

Officers discovered several police radios and handheld devices that were stolen from the Logan County Sheriff's Office within the past year.

Joslin used his personal cellphone and laptop in late August to create an email identifying himself as the Guthrie fire chief.

With that email, he was able to send a message to the Department of Public Safety to request that the stolen radios be activated.

After being arrested , Joslin told officers he downloaded the police department's GeoSafe computer system on his computer after hearing police talk about it on the radio & had the ability to track the locations of police officers and firefighters.

The affidavit also states Joslin was in possession of a stolen deputy jacket from the Logan County Sheriff's office and other police-related items.

Officials with the Guthrie Police Department have not commented on the case.
