GunAuction.com

GunAuction.com, a website that allows people to buy and sell guns, has been infiltrated by hackers.

More than 550,000 users' sensitive personal information was obtained by the attackers.

Full names, residential addresses, email addresses, plaintext passwords, and phone numbers are among the customer data that have been compromised.

According to TechCrunch, stolen data can be used to identify those who bought weapons.

The information can be used by thieves to determine the buyers' addresses so they can go there and steal the weapon.

For the sample of data they examined, TechCrunch was able to confirm its legitimacy, although it's not clear how recent the data is.
