GRTC
The transportation system operator for central Virginia, the Greater Richmond Transportation Company, had to contend with a cyberattack that disrupted its computer network during the Thanksgiving holiday.
A representative for the GRTC network informed Recorded Future News that they had a brief network outage around Thanksgiving that affected some applications and areas of the network.
According to the firm, all of its services are currently operating on time, and at this point, GRTC does not anticipate any further problems for riders.
The Play ransomware group claimed responsibility for the attack, exposing the company on its leak website, and requiring GRTC to pay a ransom by December 13th.
