Franklin County Public Schools

Franklin County Public Schools were closed due to a ransomware attack that is still impacting the school division.

The choice to cancel classes was decided to improve on-campus security while the effects of the cyberattack were being examined, according to a statement from school superintendent Bernice Cobbs.

The educational system took preventative action by taking some systems down.

In this process, the FBI and Virginia State Police are currently collaborating with Franklin County Public Schools and other regional and international law enforcement agencies.
