Fraunhofer Institute was targeted by a ransomware group recently in May 2022.
A group of hackers broke into the reputable German research institute and seized valuable digital documents which they offered on sale on an illegal website called “Industrial Spy".
Over 320 gigabytes (GB) of stolen data is held for purchase for a sum of $2.2 million in Bitcoin.
