Past incidents, such as the 2021 attempted breach of a Florida water treatment plant where a hacker remotely altered chemical levels demonstrate the potential for devastating consequences. Danielson emphasized that cyber warfare is evolving into one of the fastest-growing fronts, with attacks capable of crippling essential services like power grids, financial systems, and telecommunications.
