Flagstar Bank, Michigan-based financial services provider suffered a data breach incident that affected its 1.5 million customers as hackers accessed personal data during a December cyberattack.

The threat actors accessed sensitive customer details, including full names and social security numbers.

Flagstar initiated the response plan with the help of external cybersecurity professionals and provided free two years of identity monitoring and protection services to the impacted individuals.
