The DNA rape kit collected by Oklahoma City Police Department was lost in a data security breach at the contractor's end.

The electronic database of DNA Solutions, Inc., the contractor with OCPD experienced a network security breach that compromised the personal information of the people whose samples were sent for test.

The Oklahoma City Police Department sent the breach notice to the affected individuals and DNA Solutions offered free identity theft protection along with free credit monitoring to the affected individuals.
