Croton-Harmon Education Foundation

Croton-Harmon school district was targeted by a cyber security attack on school-based desktops and laptops that kept students learning at home.

In a communication to district families, Croton-Harmon Superintendent Deborah O'Connell said the incident was a ransomware attack.

The district stated that the impact of this attack on their systems is requiring an extraordinary amount of time to restore servers and devices.

T4here was no evidence that any personal data was compromised. Only laptops and computer workstations were affected, not Chromebooks and iPads.

Croton-Harmon also contracts with EduTek, and has had a cybersecurity company, Fortinet, helping to mitigate the attack.
