Cox Media Group

Cox Media Group, one of the largest media conglomerates in the US suffered a ransomware attack in June 2021.

The attack impacted its internal networks and live streaming capabilities such as web streams and mobile apps.

The Cox group asked its employees to shut down everything and log out their emails to ensure no further spread till the security team restored everything from backups.

The Cox owns 57 radio and TV stations across 20 US markets and the attack apparently disrupted the operations at majority of the stations.
