Canadian Copper Mountain Mining Corporation (CMMC) had to shut down its operations after it was targeted in a ransomware attack.
The company has to isolate its operations, switch to manual processes where possible, and preventatively shut down the mill to determine the effect of the attack on its control systems.
Also a cybercriminal offered to sell the credentials of an account belonging to a CMMC employee on a hacker marketplace.
The Company’s external and internal IT teams continuied to assess risks and actively establish additional safeguards to mitigate the effect.
