Commission for Public Service Appointments

The Public Appointments Service (PAS) exposed the personal data of 15,471 applicants for public positions inadvertently.

Through the publicjobs.ie portal, a message was issued to the affected candidates informing them that their names and any job alert alerts they had subscribed to may have been shared with other candidates.

All 15,471 candidates received the information through email, and 529 of them saw it before the PAS decided to take it back.

According to an email provided by the body, all of the candidates received incorrect information about the candidates.
