US ambulance billing service Comstar noticed some suspicious activity on its servers that exposed sensitive information belonging to medical patients.
The exposed information included names, dates of birth, information regarding medical assessment and medication administration, health insurance information, drivers’ licenses, financial account information, and Social Security numbers.
Comstar immediately took steps to secure its network and launched a thorough investigation, with the assistance of third-party experts.
It offered free credit monitoring services to the impacted individuals.
