New Orleans City Hall's computer networks were targeted in a ransomware attack that affected its several departments.
The attack made public email accounts for two-thirds of employees inaccessible.
Its officials needed to work on pen and paper through the end of the year as the city took more than eight months to recover from the attack.
Overall the attack cost $7.2M for the city to recover fully from the attack.
