An internal intranet system of the City of Brantford suffered a data breach incident in January 2022 that leaked the job application records, vaccination status and personal addresses of the municipal staff of the city.
The breach was caused due to the incorrect access permissions and configuration settings.
The city took immediate steps to secure the intranet site and reviewed all access permissions.
