The City of Ellensburg fell victim to a ransomware attack that rendered most City data and made the network inaccessible.

The attack impacted all City departments, including administrative and financial services, and the City’s utility billing system.

The City worked to determine the best and safest method to recover data that had been encrypted in that attack and tried to restore the network soon.
