The computer systems of the city of Baltimore were targeted in a ransomware attack by a ransomware group called RobbinHood.
Hackers demanded payment of 13 bitcoin (over $76000) to restore their access to the internet and threatened to permanently delete the data if their requirements were not met within ten days.
The attack significantly negatively impacted the Baltimore real estate market as some 1,500 pending home sales were delayed when the system went down.
