The City of Bridgeport suffered a ransomware attack in May 2021.
The attackerss both gained the access to the systems and encrypted, stole and removed certain data from their systems, which disrupted several operations in the city.
The information stolen in the attack including includes social security numbers, driver’s license numbers, addresses and other personal information was leaked on the dark web.
The city announced the free credit monitoring services to the impacted citizens.
