Utilizing sophisticated malware, the attackers infiltrated the companies’ networks to compromise point-of-sale systems and steal the details of 15 million payment cards. This operation was meticulously planned, with intrusions taking between two to four months to execute, culminating in significant financial losses and damage to the companies’ reputations. The breach not only exposed sensitive customer information but also highlighted the growing threat of cybercrime to the financial stability and security of global enterprises.
