Cheshire West and Chester Council suffered a data breach after one of its staff members sent out an email about taxi legislation but exposed all recipients' details.
The email exposed both personal and business addresses of about 1,326 people advising them of changes to taxi legislation.
Upon discovering the incident Cheshire West took additional steps to address the issue.
