The CMS initiated the CHOPD program to alleviate the financial strain on affected parties by distributing over $2.55 billion to Part A providers and more than $717.18 million to Part B suppliers. Notably, CMS has recouped most of the advance payments, and normal billing processes are now reinstated for providers.
