The personal data of more than 7,000 people who applied for jobs with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools had been mistakenly shared with an outside contractor.
The leaked data included applicants' names, addresses, and Social Security numbers of the job applicants.
The school district immediately contacted the contractor and asked him to destroy the data.
