Centers Laboratory Discloses Data Breach Affecting Sensitive Patient and Employee Information
Centers Laboratory, a healthcare diagnostics company based in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey, recently reported a data breach involving sensitive personal and health information. The incident was disclosed to the Vermont Attorney General on June 18, 2026, with a public notice posted on the company’s website.
The breach was first detected on August 25, 2025, after an unauthorized actor accessed and exfiltrated data from Centers Laboratory’s systems between August 9 and August 14, 2025. A subsequent investigation confirmed that the compromised data included patient test records, laboratory reports, employee details, diagnostic data, and internal operational files.
On October 6, 2025, the threat actor Worldleaks claimed responsibility for the breach, posting the stolen data on the Tor dark web network. The exposed information included names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license and passport numbers, health insurance details, and medical records.
While the total number of affected individuals was not specified in public filings, Centers Laboratory has established a dedicated phone line (1-833-502-4681) and mailing address (Centers Lab NJ LLC, Cedar Knolls, NJ) for inquiries related to the breach. The company’s response focused on notifying impacted parties and assessing the scope of the incident.
