Carnegie Mellon University

The Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) reported a data security incident on January 12, 2024, involving unauthorized access to a computer system on August 25, 2023. The breach may have compromised personal information including names, social security numbers, and dates of birth, although no misuse of this information has been confirmed. CMU is offering affected individuals a complimentary 24-month membership in Experian IdentityWorks for identity protection.
