C2N Diagnostics Suffers Data Breach Exposing Sensitive Patient Information

C2N Diagnostics, a St. Louis-based biotechnology company specializing in Alzheimer’s and neurodegenerative disorder blood tests, confirmed a cyberattack on March 6, 2026, that compromised sensitive personal data. The breach involved unauthorized access to employee email accounts containing patient information.

Exposed Data Included:

  • Health insurance information
  • Blood test results and other health data
  • Social Security numbers

The company clarified that financial information, such as credit card numbers or bank details, was not affected. After containing the attack, C2N launched an investigation and reported the incident to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on April 27, 2026. A total of 2,027 individuals in the U.S. were impacted.

C2N Diagnostics, founded in 2007, operates a clinical laboratory in St. Louis and collaborates with research institutions and pharmaceutical companies globally.
