Terra Holdings Data Breach Exposes Sensitive Personal Information
Terra Holdings, LLC a parent company of luxury real estate brands including Brown Harris Stevens, Halstead Property Company, and The Vanderbilt Companies reported a data breach affecting an undisclosed number of individuals. The incident, discovered on February 13, 2025, involved unauthorized access to company systems between February 11 and 13, 2025.
A third-party forensic investigation determined that sensitive files were accessed or exfiltrated during the breach. It wasn’t until January 26, 2026, that the company identified the individuals whose data may have been compromised. Notifications were filed with the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on February 12, 2026, and the Vermont Attorney General the following day. At least 143 Massachusetts residents were confirmed as affected, though the total number of impacted individuals remains undisclosed.
Exposed data includes:
- Social Security numbers
- Driver’s licenses
- Financial account numbers
Shamis & Gentile P.A., a class action law firm specializing in data breach cases, is investigating potential legal claims for those affected. The firm has indicated that impacted individuals may be eligible for compensation.
