Bonick Landscaping Inc.: Bonick Landscaping Data Breach Exposes Personal and Medical Details

Bonick Landscaping Suffers Ransomware Attack, Exposing Sensitive Data of 2,357 Individuals

Bonick Landscaping Inc., a luxury residential landscape design firm based in Irving, Texas, has disclosed a data breach stemming from a ransomware attack by the cybercriminal group PLAY. The incident exposed sensitive personal and financial information belonging to 2,356 Texas residents and one Massachusetts resident.

On April 10, 2025, the PLAY group claimed responsibility for the breach via a post on the Tor network, asserting they had accessed Bonick Landscaping’s database. The threat actors set a deadline of April 15, 2025, to publish the stolen data if their demands were not met. The compromised information included client documents, payroll records, tax filings, IDs, and financial data.

Public filings confirmed that the breach exposed names, Social Security numbers, financial account details, driver’s license numbers, government-issued IDs (including passports and credit/debit card numbers), medical records, and health insurance information.

In response, Bonick Landscaping is offering 24 months of free credit monitoring and identity protection services through Experian IdentityWorks to affected individuals. Those impacted can enroll online using an activation code from their notification letter by July 31, 2026, or contact a dedicated assistance line for support. The company has not disclosed whether a ransom was paid or if the stolen data was leaked.
