Ohio educational nonprofit Battelle for Kids suffered a ransomware attack in December 2021 which exposed the personal information of about 500,000 Chicago-area students and 60,000 teachers.
Battelle for Kids stores student course information and assessment data for teacher evaluations fo many schools in the region.
Battelle for Kids hired a cybersecurity firm to investigate the incident and evaluate the scope and take preventive steps to mitigate the potential impact.
