Cyberattack Targets Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Leaders’ Social Media Accounts
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has reported a series of cyberattacks targeting the X (formerly Twitter) accounts of its senior leaders, including Secretary General Mia Golam Porwar and party chief (ameer) Shafiqur Rahman. Separately, Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch (DB) detained Sarwar Alam, an assistant programmer from Bangabhaban’s ICT section, in connection with the hacking of Rahman’s account. The arrest followed a raid in Dhaka’s Motijheel area, as confirmed by DB chief Shafiqul Islam. Further investigations are underway.
