Ecuador's largest private bank Banco Pichincha has suffered a cyberattack that disrupted operations and taken the ATM and online banking portal offline.
The bank has experienced significant interruption as a result of the system shutdown, with ATMs no longer functioning and maintenance notices shown on the online banking portals.
Employees were informed in an internal message issued to the Bank's agencies and viewed by Bleeping Computer that self-services, email, digital channels, and bank applications won't be available owing to a technical problem.
They reiterate commitment to safeguard the interests of clients and restore normal care through digital channels in the shortest possible time.
