The Bancor exchange said in a statement that an unidentified hacker had taken over $13.5 million worth of cryptocurrencies.
To carry out the study, the corporation put its infrastructure into maintenance.
By gaining access to a business wallet, the attackers were able to take $12.5 million, or 24,984 Ether (ETH), out of Bancor smart contracts and move it to a private wallet under their control.
Bancor was able to stop money transfers due to a security feature in its tokens, which prevented hackers from transferring funds to other wallets.
